FRANCISC - Facebook berencana masuk ke pasar China setelah Google hengkang dari negeri tirai bambu tersebut. Facebook diperkirakan baru masuk ke China akhir tahun ini.
"Kami sangat tertarik dengan China sama seperti negara lainnya, kami saat ini sedang mempelajari tentang China dan untuk saat ini kami memang belum punya rencana secara pasti," kata juru bicara Facebook kepada portal Sina.com, seperti dikutip Marketwatch, Senin (12/4/2010).
Situs jejaring sosial yang beranggotakan sekira 400 juta pengguna itu melirik pasar China yang masih dikuasai situs-situs lokal.
Sementara itu, Google yang telah memutuskan angkat kaki dari China langsung hijrah memperluas usaha ke Korea Selatan dan Jepang. Seperti diketahui, sejak memastikan keluar dari China, saham Google turun 5,2 persen. Keputusan Google berekspansi ke Jepang dan Korsel sepertinya bisa mengganti hilangnya potensi keuntungan di China.
Analis pasar sendiri menilai langkah Google menentang upaya penyensoran di China bisa meningkatkan reputasi perusahaan yang didirikan Sergey Brin ini di Asia.
